The AAM Group awarded its first ever Member of the Year Award to British Columbia’s Lordco Auto Parts. The award was presented on May 18th at the AAM Annual Membership Meeting and Vendor Showcase. The recipient of this year’s award was Lordco Parts of British Columbia. Ed Coates accepted the award on behalf of his company. He was awarded a custom, AAM designed, billet aluminum and steel trophy and a painting by Jim Caswell commissioned by AAM to feature the Lordco logo on the door of a classic Ford pickup. It was the second major award accepted by Coates this year, with the first being the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honour of the Automtoive Industries Association of Canada. AAM uses five criteria to determine its annual award winner. These include; product line compliance, participation in group marketing programs, participation in group buys, year-over-year growth, and participation in group committees and conference calls. Tim Odom, AAM’s president made the presentation and stated “AAM is very pleased to recognize the Lordco organization. Their team exhibits excellent commitment to marketing, merchandising, and selling specialty automotive accessories. I was also pleased that we had a very tight competition between our members for the honor. Less than three percent separated the top three members. Lordco best represents the efforts of many AAM members to build our organization’s effectiveness.” AAM recognized several AAM vendors for Outstanding Support. These included Outstanding IT Support- K&N Filters, Outstanding Manpower Support- Extang, Outstanding Marketing Support- Curt Manufacturing, and Outstanding Partnership Award- Husky Liners. AAM also awarded Jerry Nunez as AAM’s Rep of the Year. AAM, an acronym for Automotive Accessories Marketing, USA, Inc., a twenty-three year old program distribution group in the specialty equipment marketplace.
