While the most spacious cars come from automakers based around the globe, a Detroit-based manufacturer builds every one of the roomiest light trucks. “Domestic light truck companies have been serving the American market far longer than the imports have, and intuitively understand that Americans truck drivers want big, powerful, functional vehicles. The European and Japanese manufacturers are starting out from a much different perspective and therefore seem to limit their vehicles based on their local restrictions, such as high fuel prices and narrow roads,” commented Karl Brauer, Editor-In-Chief of Edmunds.com. “On the other hand, our list of the roomiest cars reflects the imports’ ability to combine voluminous car interiors within efficiently packaged exteriors.”
