Honeywell Celebrates Nine Billionth Autolite Spark Plug


Honeywell Consumer Products Group has announced that it has built the nine billionth Autolite spark plug.
Autolite, one of North America’s largest producers of premium original equipment and aftermarket spark plugs, manufactured the spark plug at its facility in Fostoria, Ohio.
“Producing our 9 billionth plug is a great milestone for the Autolite brand,” comments Eric Rozier, vice president of Autolite. “We have been in this business for over 65 years and continue to produce premium, innovative products that millions of consumers trust year in and year out. There is a great deal of history and technology behind the brand, and this achievement marks Autolite’s commitment to excellence in the industry.”
The first Autolite spark plug was manufactured in Fostoria in 1936 for use in Chrysler Company engines. Other important dates include:

1956 First Power Tip Spark Plug
1962 One Billionth Spark Plug Produced
1976 First Suppressor Spark Plug
1987 Autolite Produces First Platinum Spark Plug for Ford OE

Autolite is a brand of Honeywell CPG, which also produces products under the Fram and Prestone brand names.
