Hella North America, a major supplier of lighting, electronic equipment sensors and front-end modules to the auto industry, has received a Quest for Excellence Award from the readers of Automotive Industries magazine. The award recognizes the auto industry’s top suppliers and is based on an evaluation of quality, pricing, delivery, customer service and innovation by original equipment manufacturers. Andy Cummins, publisher and editorial director of Automotive Industries, recently presented the award to Joe Borruso, president and CEO of Hella North America, at the company’s headquarters in Plymouth, Mich. “To be ranked by your customers as the ‘best of the best’ is quite an achievement,” Cummins said. “The Quest for Excellence award calls attention to the outstanding job Hella has done to create high-quality, just-in-time, value-added products for the automobile industry.” Cummins noted that only OEM readers of the magazine who personally review, recommend, approve or purchase products in the field of automotive lighting systems took part in the award selection process. “This award does not represent the opinion of Automotive Industries or its editorial staff,” he added. “Our readers selected the winners based on their own experiences with individual supplier companies.” Borruso noted that the award was especially meaningful because it came from Hella’s OEM customers. “To be recognized by the automotive community for maintaining high standards of excellence in all areas of our business is one of the highest honors a supplier can achieve,” he said.
