Genuine Parts Industrial Supply Subsidiary Names Product Managers


Motion Industries, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Corporation, the largest member of the NAPA automotive aftermarket distirbution group and owner of NAPA Canada, has announced a revised structure of its product manager positions.
These positions will report to Tom Robertshaw, senior vice president of sales, and will focus on the sales and marketing for products and services in their respective areas, according to Bill Stevens, Motion Industries’ president and CEO.
“By strengthening the role of product managers in our major areas for products and services, they will become a stronger resource for field leaders,” Stevens said. They will ensure that our key suppliers are integral parts of Motion Industries’ efforts and support company initiatives as well as assisting in creating and executing sales plans for future growth.
Product managers and responsibilities are as follows:
Jim Williams, Industrial Automation
Dale Hanson, Bearings
John Curtin, Electrical
Dudley Sheppard, Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Tony Cefalu, Hose & Rubber
Steve Poynter, Industrial Products
Gary Childress, Material Handling
Jim King, Service Center Operations

With 2002 sales in excess of $2.2 billion U.S., Motion Industries is the world’s largest distributor of bearings; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic power replacement parts; and hose products. Motion Industries has more than 500 operations including nine distribution centres throughout North America and serves more than 150,000 customers including automotive, chemical, food, beverage, wood/lumber, iron, oil, pulp and paper, steel and textile industries.
