Federal-Mogul Introduces Moog Outer Tie Rod for BMW Models

Federal-Mogul Corporation’s Moog chassis parts product team has introduced an original equipment-quality replacement outer tie rod end for nearly 20 popular late-model BMW passenger vehicle applications.
The availability of the new Moog outer tie rod end, p/n ES800478, enables automotive service professionals to perform a complete, high-quality steering and suspension repair without needing to rely on a dealership part.
The new tie rod end is engineered and tested to Federal-Mogul’s world-class quality standards and features the Moog brand’s patented pressed-in cover plate technology, which helps ensure proper radial deflection and longer component life.
The Moog part also comprises a high-strength, one-piece solid forged housing and tempered and induction-hardened SAE 4140 steel stud. Federal-Mogul engineers replaced the plastic-type OE bearing with a highly robust sintered metal design.
The part’s fully serviceable socket includes a grease fitting, premium polychloroprene sealed boot with grease relief valve.
The new Moog ES800478 outer tie rod end is now available for the following applications: BMW 525i (2004-07); 528i (2008-10); 528i xDrive (09); 530i (2004-07); 535i (2008-10); 545i (2004-05); 550i (2006-10); 645Ci (2004-05); 650i (2006-10); 745i (2002-05); 745Li (2002-05); 750i (2006-08); 750Li (2006-08); 760i (2004-06); 760Li (2003-08); Alpina B7 (2007-08); M5 (2006-10); and M6 (2006-10).
