ExxonMobil has announced that a new
addition to its Mobil Pegasus Series of high-performance lubricants for natural gas engines, Mobil Pegasus 1005, will be introduced worldwide.
Formulated with basestocks and advanced additive
technology, Mobil Pegasus 1005 is designed to provide today’s high output, low-emissions four cycle gas engines with protection while also delivering superior performance for older model engines.
“To stay ahead of the competition in today’s global industrial marketplace, companies need to invest in products that are designed specifically to help enhance the productivity and durability of their most critical equipment,” said Jeff Biamonte, ExxonMobil’s global industrial advisor.
“Mobil Pegasus 1005 was developed through extensive laboratory and engine bench testing, as well as comprehensive field tests with major OEMs around the world, to ensure its exceptional performance capabilities over the long haul.”
With more than 40,000 hours of rigorous field testing, conducted with customers and leading OEMs, Mobil Pegasus 1005 provides anti-wear
characteristics to protect heavily loaded valve train components while maintaining compatibility with catalytic converter materials.
“Its advanced detergent-dispersant system controls the formation of carbon and varnish deposits to minimize oil consumption and maintain engine cleanliness even during extended drain intervals,” said Kevin McKenna, ExxonMobil’s product technical advisor.
“Minimizing piston deposits and controlling oil consumption are critical factors that went into the design and development of Mobil Pegasus 1005.”
