Evening Workshop In Burlington Ont. On Shop Valuation

Shop owners interested in understanding how to determine a value for their business should make note of an evening workshop November 23 being hosted by three automotive trade associations.
The workshops hosted by the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA), the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario (AARO), and the Collision Repair Trade Association (HARA/ CIIA).
“Extremely helpful,” was the comment from the participants at the first of the five evening workshop presentations, offered by AARO, HARA, and OARA Ontario automotive trade associations.
The next workshop scheduled for Tuesday, November 23 night looks at answering the question “What is my shop worth?”
Detailed questions incluce: What about my tools and equipment, booths, alignment rack? Goodwill valuation? Is the land contaminated? Can I get a loan? What about lease-to-own or takeback mortgage?
Organzers say attendees will be surprised at some of the answers and what can work, either buying or selling.
For instance, in the last year, Industry Canada’s guaranteed loan program honoured 880 applications for $64 million in the transportation sector.
Guest speakers include Tony Nigro, agent with Royal LePage Realty and former shop owner, Tony Auchincloss of Tool Inventory and Appraisal, and David Benson from Mortgage Intelligence.
