Delphi First to Earn i-Shop Certification

Delphi Product & Service Solutions, part of Delphi Corporation has recieved i-SHOP certification for its patented DS800 computer-implemented diagnostic system.
The i-Shop standard, (AAIA Open Industry Standards) provides an industry standard for data and communications among shop equipment. The DS800 platform, which includes drivers seat diagnostics, will be featured along with a new product portfolio, during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nev., next week.
The DS800 solution — a finalist for the 2003 Automotive News PACE(TM) Award — provides a wireless network for technicians and service personnel to remotely access diagnostic information, technical data and training at the vehicle on a just-in-time basis.
Delphi is the first company to become certified since the i-SHOP standards were established and Delphi’s certification is viewed as a strong point of validation of the standards according to AAIA leadership.
“Delphi’s i-SHOP certification demonstrates the usability and the ease of coding of these standards to all the other companies not involved in the development,” said Russ Bailey, Delphi Integrated Service Solutions managing director. “In addition, the enabling of i-SHOP standards to the DS800 provides interconnectivity to dissimilar automotive service products and applications, which will be demonstrated ‘live’ at the AAPEX show.”
