Delphi announces an expansion to its fuel product portfolio with the addition of 108 Ford fuel hanger pumps and sending unit assemblies.
The launch will cover 1996 – 2007 Ford F-Series, Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis, Taurus, Super Duty and Expedition/Navigator applications; a total of almost 20 million vehicles. These part numbers will launch in phases throughout the first half of 2011. The first set of part numbers were launched on January 31, 2011 with 36 SKUs covering 9.2 million vehicles.
Delphi Ford hanger pumps will provide technicians a repair alternative with proven OE technology, wider application coverage and a competitive price. By using its patented OE Gen IV turbine pump, Delphi is using today’s latest fuel pump technology to upgrade older applications for the highest level of performance. The Delphi fuel module, known for its fast-pressure rise for quick engine starts, also features internal springs, an integrated OE fuel vapor pressure sensor and two-strainer system for long-lasting durability.
Delphi uses its Packard OE wiring for increased reliability. Some competitive wires can wear easier when exposed to fuel, which may lead to premature failure on the unit. Delphi OE wire sets are developed to meet all vehicle manufacturer OE specifications for durability and corrosion resistance.
“As the company that makes the parts cars are born with, we’ve applied our OE engineering and high quality standards to develop our Ford product line,” said Lucia Veiga Moretti, vice president, global independent aftermarket, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. “Delphi continues to add relevant and timely parts to its already comprehensive fuel management offering. Technicians now have another option when repairing Ford fuel pumps, and they get that alternative from the Delphi brand. This launch is truly an example of Delphi DNA at work with our OE design inside every one of these parts.”
Delphi will roll out the remaining part numbers throughout 2011. The Ford fuel product offering will be available globally. For North America, all part numbers will be available on go.delphi.com as they are announced. To date, 27 of the 36 SKUs are available in Activant and Wrenchead (WHI) with the remaining nine SKUs available in April.
