CIAS 2002 News: Quebec Named Division of the Year

The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada’s Quebec Division was named Division of the Year for the second year in a row at the 2002 Canadian International Automotive Show in Toronto.
The AIA Division of the Year Award is presented annually to the division that has been the most successful and active over the past year. It is awarded to the AIA division that accumulates the most points in a twelve-month period on a variety of criteria including holding educational and social events, division executive meetings, making scholarship contributions, Opportunities Unlimited presentations to students, as well as membership growth.
The award was presented during the AIA’s Annual General Meeting held in conjunction with the trade show.
In accepting the award on behalf of the division, division chairman Michel Bourgeois thanked the entire division committee, as well as the associations national office for the support they provided.
"I would also like to thank our team’s employers and my employer for allowing us to the time to be involved," said Bourgeois.
Also honored was the Southwestern Ontario Division as the Most Improved Division. That division made some very well-received Opportunities Unlimited presentations to students as well as making substantial contributions to scholarship funds.
