Charity Starts At Home in Holiday Season for Warehouse Operation

World Automotive, a warehousing operation in Toronto, Ont., has once again made its challenge to the aftermarket to make charitable contributions in lieu of holiday gift giving.
Harvey Presement, sales manager, commented that World Automotive started the practice of making a substantial donation to Shad’s R & R for Muscular Dystrophy in lieu of gifts at Christmas time to their customers a number of years ago. "This donation is really on behalf of all of our World customers," says Presement, who declined to specify the amount given. Presement, Bryan Lauder and the staff of World all joined in asking other companies to follow suit.
In thanking the staff at World Automotive, John Vanstone, chairman of Shad’s R & R commented that they can all feel a strong sense of pride knowing that Shad’s R & R continues to operate at a zero overhead with 100% of all donations flowing to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. The charity drive raises more than 150,000 annually.
