Castrol To Continue Kennington Sponsorship

DJ Kennington was just old enough to drive on Ontario roads when Castrol first sponsored his team in 1994.
That makes the relationship between Castrol and the Number 17 car, Canada’s longest continuous motorsport sponsorship.
This year, Kennington will reach for the points championship in the NASCAR/Canadian Tire Series after finishing a solid second in 2007 with two wins and eight top-5 finishes.
Marsha McLaughlin, Communications Manager for Wakefield Canada Inc., the company that distributes Castrol lubricants in Canada, is optimistic that DJ will win this year’s season but knows that the sponsorship is one the company can be proud of no matter how the team finishes.
“DJ is always in the race and we can count on the 17 Castrol Dodge to be competitive every outing. That’s the way it has been for 15 years!”
Also this season, DJ plans to significantly compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driving for Canadian, Randy Macdonald’s team.
In addition to the NASCAR Canadian Tire commitment, Castrol will be sponsoring DJ in the Nationwide NAPA 200 event on Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in August.
“Castrol has been there since the very beginning. I am incredibly proud of our relationship and what we have accomplished together,” DJ acknowledges.
