Call Goes Out To Suppliers for Non-Application, Universal Parts eCatalogue

Activant Solutions Inc., is inviting suppliers of non-application and universal parts and related items to include their product data at no charge in the comprehensive Activant ItemExpert eCatalogue.
The new ItemExpert eCatalogue will enable suppliers of non-application and universal parts to reach potentially thousands of additional retail points of sale by providing their latest product information – including part description, pricing, image and more – to Activant’s data acquisition team, says the company.
The new eCatalog will help retail professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada look up and sell products not covered by Activant’s PartExpert eCatalogue of application-specific parts.
“We are opening the door to the aftermarket distribution channel for product suppliers that have never before been able to provide their data directly to automotive parts resellers,” said Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president, Activant.
The Activant ItemExpert eCatalog will include 58 categories and nearly 2,000 specific types of products commonly sold by automotive parts distributors, jobbers and retailers.
These non-application and universal products – ranging from tools and chemicals to welding equipment and tire and wheel accessories – are not currently listed in any other comprehensive database widely used in parts stores.

To be included in the new eCatalog, suppliers need to provide product descriptions and digital images. Other helpful information – such as product specifications, installation instructions, warranty information, MSDS files, and technical bulletins – is also welcome.
