Bridgestone Canada Seeks Nominees for 2009 Canadian Truck Hero Award

Bridgestone Canada is seeking candidates for this year’s Canadian Truck Hero Award. The award is given to a truck driver that has performed a heroic act over the past year.

“We should not let heroic highway acts go unrecognized,” said Jim West, general manager, commercial products, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions, a division of BSCA.

The recipient of the Truck Hero Award will receive a $3,000 cash prize, specially commissioned trophy and a two-day, all expense-paid trip for two to an award presentation in Toronto. The owner of the recipient’s trucking company, along with a guest, will also receive an expense-paid trip to the presentation. A donation of $3,000 will also be made to the recipient’s charity of choice.

To qualify for the award:
• Incidents must have occurred anywhere in North American while on the job between January 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009.
• Nominees must be a truck driver from Canada that operates a vehicle with 14 wheels or more.
