Brake Service

Dealers still hold the majority share of brake work at 44%; this is down by 1%, and largely driven by preferences in the Prairies and Ontario to visit Independent repair shops instead.

Dealers did have a 2% gain in the Atlantic region, where Mass merchants and Independent repair shops both lost 2% share.

By age of vehicle, Dealers still lead with 79% of share on two-to three-year-old vehicles and 50% in the 4-7 age group; both are down by 2% and 3% from last year. Dealers gained 2% share among eight-to 12-year-old vehicles by capturing 25% this year.
