The Volmetal-Klassik (18th June), which will be supported by Bilstein, is a competitive rally open to both classic and retro cars, and the strenuous nature of the event demands the suspension of all vehicles taking part be in excellent condition.
The ‘Bilstein Classic Range’ contains shock absorbers, suspension components and fitting kits for all vehicles manufactured from the 1950s onwards. If the required parts cannot be found in the catalogue, the Department for Special Customer Requests can manufacture shock absorbers in quantities between two and 100 units, with the resulting components being suitable for both road use and historic motorsport.
The Department for Special Customer Requests arose from the Motorsport Division at the time, and is capable of reproducing virtually any design of type of shock absorber. A comprehensive archive supplies the required design documents, and the result is an engineered product that manages to both look authentic and meet current requirements for performance, safety and comfort. All shock absorbers are based on mono-tube gas-pressure technology, are improved with regard to design and material and can be used without individual component approval by traffic authorities.
