BFGoodrich Tires Debuts It’s Ultra-High Performance All-Season Tire

#aftermarket – BFGoodrich Tires is bringing race-proven technology to everyday use with the launch of the new g-Force COMP-2 A/S tire. The new g-Force COMP-2 A/S tire will give drivers the ability to accelerate faster, brake shorter and maintain control in all seasons.

Engineered from BFGoodrich’s rich heritage of pavement racing and motorsports technology, the g-Force COMP-2 A/S delivers the best wet and dry traction, stops up to 4.5 m (15 feet) shorter on wet roads and up to 1.5 m (5 feet) shorter on dry roads, and better snow traction than leading competitors. All of which combine for a driving experience that will give consumers the confidence to take on the road no matter the season.

The ultra-high performance g-Force COMP-2 A/S incorporates a Performance Racing Core (PRC) that delivers crisp responsive control while cornering hard, on wet, dry or light snow covered roads. The technology is directly derived from track tires and optimizes the contact patch for enhanced traction at speed for increased acceleration, while adding sidewall stiffness to resist deflection for immediate turning response, while still maintaining ride comfort.

Knowing that performance seeking drivers demand these attributes in an all-season tire, the tire also boasts BFGoodrich Tires’ UltiGrip Technology and g-Force Tread, which provides enhanced wet and dry traction, optimized rubber-to-road contact and the ultimate grip in hard cornering for control all year long.

“We know our consumers need a tire that delivers more than just a quality ride on the pavement,” said Sabrina Garofolo, BFGoodrich Tires Ultra-High Performance marketing manager. “The new g-Force COMP-2 A/S delivers on the ABC’s of ultra-high performance (UHP) by helping drivers accelerate faster, brake shorter and have control in all seasons. It’s not just an ultra-high performance tire for Performance Seekers, it’s an ultra-high performance tire for everyone. It boasts high performance in rain, cold, light snow or dry pavement.”

In developing the g-Force COMP-2 A/S, BFGoodrich Tires leveraged the latest in engineering to provide consumers with an advanced tire to perform in a range of conditions. The key technologies that deliver on the ABCs of UHP for the g-Force COMP-2 A/S includes:

  • UltiGrip Technology: The g-Force COMP-2™ A/S is made with a high-silica, cold-weather flexing compound designed for the best wet and dry grip, with all-season traction. This combined with Directional Tread Design and V-shaped angled lateral and longitudinal grooves optimize rubber-to-road contact for ultimate dry grip while efficiently evacuating water for better wet traction.
  • g-Force Tread: With advanced mold design and a performance tread profile the g-Force COMP-2 A/S evenly distributes stresses across the tire footprint improving long-term wear versus the g-Force Super Sport A/S Z-rated tire as well as resisting irregular wear typically associated with directional tread designs.
  • Performance Racing Core (PRC): ETEC System (Equal TEnsion Containment System), Dynamic Suspension System (DSS), and g-Control Sidewall Inserts provide a reinforced internal structure that increases control while maintaining ride comfort and added sidewall stiffness to resist deflection for immediate turning response.

“With the launch of the new g-Force COMP-2 A/S alongside the recent launch of the All-Terrain T/A KO2, BFGoodrich Tires now boasts two of the highest performing all-seasons tires in their respective tire categories. It will be through these two pillar products, that our consumers will discover if they are driver enough to take on any adventure playground Earth has to offer,” said Sabrina Garofolo.

The g-Force COMP-2 A/S will be released to consumers on April 1, initially in 33 sizes with a total of 59 sizes released by the end of the first quarter of 2016. The tire will fit a range of vehicles, including American muscle, European and Asian luxury, as well as tuner car options and plus fitments for a wide variety of vehicles.
