Bestbuy Goes Mountain High, Raises More Than $27,000

Bestbuy Distributors Limited’s annual Buy & Sell attracted shareholders from British Columbia to Newfoundland, to meet and network with valued supplier vendors from all over North America, for a memorable conference at scenic Mont-Tremblant, Québec, September 15 –September 18, 2013.

The event, which combines supplier meetings with several social events, attracted the majority of the buying group’s shareholders as well as a wide variety of suppliers to the Fairmont Tremblant. Two days of successful meetings with suppliers were highlighted with events such as Bestbuy’s Annual Sick Kids golf tournament at the spectacular Le  Maître golf course. The group marveled at the scenery surrounding the challenging fairways and well-protected greens along the Riviere Diable (Devil’s River).

A second group enjoyed the Bestbuy for Sick Kids Tremblant day tour, while the golf tournament was taking place. The group started the day with an expert guided leisurely walk along the beautiful park trails surrounding the resort, which brought them to a gourmet lunch overlooking Lake Tremblant and then a scenic boat cruise capped off the afternoon. Both events and raffle sales raised $27,200.00 for the world-renowned Family Heart Centre at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. To-date, Bestbuy shareholders and valued suppliers have raised over $650,000.00 for the leading children’s medical facility.

This year’s proceeds from the golf tournament, tour and raffles will be pooled and a cheque presented to the Hospital for Sick Children at Bestbuy’s upcoming 2014 Annual General Meeting in February in Toronto. Tuesday evening, the group made their way to the top of Mont-Tremblant accessible only by the panoramic gondola. Shareholders and suppliers enjoyed a first class gourmet dinner at the summit with a bird’s eye view of surrounding lakes, fall foliage and the beautiful Laurentian landscape. Record numbers turned out for this annual event’s meetings and events during Bestbuy’s 60th anniversary year celebration.
