Automotive Scholarships Benefit from Alberta Fundraisers

There were lots of smiles at Edmonton golf tournaments, including this foursome of prize winners: (l-r) Chris Walsh, Tyleen; Shawn Nichol, Quaker State; Al Fogarty, ACDelco; and Doug Miyagishima, Mission Hill Tire, with presenter Kelly Scherr of WSI. Fall tournaments raised more than $5,000 for automotive scholarships.

Two Edmonton, Alta., golf tournaments raised more than $5,000 for automotive scholarships this fall.

The annual AIA Rick Gibson Memorial Tournament on Sept. 4 was greeted with fine fall weather. Doug Williams of National Sales contributed a personal donation towards the Rick Gibson Award, as well as giving a touching speech sharing memories with Rick’s father, son, widow, and friends in attendance.

The following day, Warehouse Services Inc. held its 5th Annual Fall Classic Tournament.

More than 140 golfers attended the event with more than $3,000 going to the Rick Gibson Award for second-year parts apprentices, and the WSI Award for second-year technician apprentices.
