AAEC president and founder Bob Greenwood has announced that Rui Martins has joined the company as a specialist process implementation instructor and business coach.
Martins earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the nationally recognized and business program at Saint Mary’s University. He has since earned a professional service manager designation, professional bodyshop manager designation, professional parts management designation, advanced finance and insurance designation, and graduated from the Customer Service Disney Style program.
Martins is the chair of the Automotive Sector Council of Nova Scotia, considered the voice of the industry in Nova Scotia. He is the current chair of the Automotive Service Trade Regulations Ad-Hoc Committee, and a member of the Nova Scotia Community College Program Advisory Committee.

Martins has been in the Automotive Industry for over 23 years. He has held senior management roles in both Dealer and Aftermarket sides of the industry. In his role at Autohaus Martins Volkswagen; Martins, won multiple awards for top ranking Customer Service Index scores on the east coast, naming the dealership to the prestigious Volkswagen Canada Presidents Club.
He achieved this while maintaining and absorption rate of 92%, showing tremendous commitment to the productivity and financial well being of the service department. In 1992, he directed his attention to the aftermarket. In three years, Martins and his team became the first Canadian Tire store in Atlantic Canada to surpass $1 million in labour sales, no small feat from its starting point at $680,000 three years prior. He achieved this while reducing customer count, increasing hours sold per invoice from .7 to 2.2, and having the honour of having the number one ranked productivity store in Canada, an honour held for eight years.
Martins is a charismatic and dynamic speaker, heavy in focus and determination as an instructor. Throughout his participation in the Greenwood management courses which he has attended numerous times, He has implemented the proven processes Greenwood teaches into his own CTC.
