Automechanika, arguably the largest automotive trade fair in the world, is ramping up efforts to surpass the strong international participation of 2004, and is organizing a Canadian Pavilion to this end.
While there has long been Canadian participation at the Frankfurt event, organizers are seeking to facilitate participation with the planning of the pavilion, located in the main hall.
Overall, Automechanika is looking to build on the previous show in 2004. That year, more than one third of the trade visitors to the Frankfurt show were from outside Germany. And, while the strongest sources for international visitors were Western European countries, the greatest percentage growth in visitors cam from Eastern Europe and Asia.
In all, more than 163,000 trade visitors came to Automechanika 2004 for the five-day show to see a full spectrum of car parts and accessories, workshops and service station.
Exhibitors to the event generated among the highest rates of satisfaction of any trade fair, with some 80% of exhibitors stating that they were satisfied with the attendance and the event’s organization.
Automechanika is a truly diversified event, catering to the automotive trade and the industry at large in both the OEM and aftermarket.
Further to its international appeal, more than three-quarters of the 4,000 exhibitors are from classified as foreign by organizers.
The 2006 edition of Automechanika will take place in Frankfurt am Main, September 12 to 17.
