Auto Parts Networks Announce Launch of EDI Network

Four of the largest aftermarket sellers are committed to full production of the PARTnerSHIP Network solution for commerce communication.
O’Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Autozone and CSK Auto are either already in full production or testing with the software.
PARTnerSHIP Network is industry-sponsored software that addresses rising costs of e-commerce communications.
This software is an alternative to Value-Added Network (VAN) based communications of EDI and other e-commerce messages between business partners.
PARTnerSHIP delivers the same reliability and security of a VAN at a fraction of the cost since there are no transaction or per-character fees associated with its use.
O’Reilly Auto Parts and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association was the original announcers of PARTnerSHIP at the AAPEX show in 2002. AAIA is responsible for the distribution and administration of support for PATERnerSHIP Network.
Mike Williams, vice-president of information technology at O’Reilly reported, at the Aftermarket eForum, that vendors were saving in excess of $50,000 (U.S.) monthly on e-commerce communication at O’Reilly’s.
“This is the best example yet of major industry players collaborating on solutions that lower cost in the supply chain,” say Scott Luckett, vice-president technology standards and solutions for AAIA.
The four resellers have installed the Network in 7,600 stores between them and represent over $10 billion (U.S.) in aftermarket sales.
PARTnerSHIP Network is available exclusively at AAIA. Information can be found at www.epartnet.com anytime.
