Hella recognized as one of GM’s suppliers of the year for 2018

Hella received its GM Supplier of the Year award at a ceremony on May 15 in Detroit

GM recently recognized suppliers that have consistently exceeded the carmaker’s expectations, created outstanding value, or introduced innovations.

Among the companies honoured as one of the GM’s suppliers of the year was automotive lighting manufacturer Hella.

“We are incredibly proud to be named a 2018 Supplier of the Year by our valued customer, General Motors,” said Jörg Weisgerber, CEO of Hella Electronics for North and South America. “Receiving this coveted award is a strong reflection of our team’s efficient, results-focused mentality, and we look forward to building upon on our partnership as we shape the future of mobility together.”

Winners of awards were selected based on performance criteria by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics executives.

“We hold our suppliers to a high bar,” said Steve Kiefer, GM senior vice president for global purchasing and supply chain. “They went above and beyond to deliver the innovations and quality that will help us earn customers for life.”
