Goodyear Canada Extends Installer Campaign

Goodyear Canada Engineered Products has announced it is extending its current automotive replacement product Installer Program until June 30, 2003.
“The campaign, launched through Goodyear distributors in February, has had overwhelming participation and positive feedback,” said Cindy Russell, regional sales manager, Central Region, Goodyear Canada Engineered Products Division.
“In addition, sales have increased for Goodyear’s popular Gatorback Poly-V belts and automatic Accu-Drive Belt Tensioners, due to the company’s official licensing agreement with NASCAR,” said Russell.
“Our new agreement with Canadian NASCAR driver Ron Fellows, plus the recent announcement to support our installers through CASCAR, are creating increased awareness and support of the Goodyear Canada Installer Program.”
Installers located in Canada are eligible to win a Goodyear – NASCAR limited edition hat by participating in the program. After purchasing a qualifying belt and corresponding tensioner, an installer returns the belt sleeve and attached coupon with information to Goodyear in exchange for the hat.
“We have also created another program to give installers across Canada the opportunity to win a limited edition Goodyear Ron Fellows leather racing jacket. Installers complete and return a Goodyear Replacement Products-related survey published in the current issue of the ‘Goodyear Install1t Newsletter’. Survey forms will be entered into a July 7 drawing for the jacket,” said Russell.
“I’m pleased to be connected to Goodyear Canada’s Installer Program,” said Fellows. “Goodyear products used by automotive and truck installers and technicians are the same products we use at a NASCAR race.”
Currently, Fellows is preparing to drive a Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated during NASCAR Winston Cup Series road races at Sears Point, California and Watkins Glen, New York. He also tests and coaches for the 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup season.
“We want to make it very clear that the Gatorback Poly-V belts used under the hood during every NASCAR race can be purchased from authorized installers for consumer and commercial vehicles,” said Russell.
Monthly programs are also planned for installers for other Goodyear automotive and truck aftermarket products, such as v-belts, belt tensioners, hose and air springs.
