Free Wells Vehicle Electronics Video…

Free Wells Vehicle Electronics Video Covers Toyota EVAP Diagnostics

The step-by-step diagnosis and repair of EVAP system issues on a 1999 Toyota Camry LE model is now covered in a free troubleshooting video available from Wells Vehicle Electronics.  The new video can be accessed via the “Wells Tech” link at www.wellsVE.com as well as through YouTube.com.

The company’s Technical Services team produced the video using a Camry LE model that had failed an emissions test as a result of a PO446 code, which indicates that a leak was detected while activating the vacuum switch valve (VSV) during an EVAP monitor test. In many cases, industry repair resources recommend automatic replacement of the EVAP canister when a PO441 or PO446 code is encountered. To avoid this expensive purchase when possible, the Wells team demonstrates how to remove and bench test the canister and VSV.

This video is one of nearly two dozen comprehensive free on-car diagnostic programs available through the www.wellsVE.com website and YouTube. These videos cover a broad range of automotive driveability issues commonly encountered on today’s domestic and foreign nameplate applications. The Technical Services team also offers vehicle systems training videos for automotive parts professionals, service writers and technicians, as well as a free quarterly diagnostic newsletter, CounterPoint. These tools also are available at no charge via the “Wells Tech” link at www.wellsVE.com.
