The Kerr Machine Shop Group held its annual trade show event in November, attracting 150 of its members, almost half arriving as the doors opened.
Group marketing manager Randy Kerr says that some 70 attendees arrived in the first half-hour of the one-day event, making for a busy morning at the Mississauga Convention Center in Mississauga, Ont.
In addition to lively discussions on technical matters that were commonplace throughout the show, members were also provided with a complimentary lunch.
Several new suppliers to the engine rebuilders buying group were present at the show, including CPX, a petroleum product distributor, piston manufacturer Mahle, and Enginetech, which was showing off its Rebuilders Valve System. Fusiontech was also busy, handling a great deal of interest in its casting repair services.
Valve Train Industries reported enthusiastic response to its line of remanufactured lifters, which can cut a considerable amount of cost out of a rebuild.
Overall, exhibitors reported solid, if not strong, business. Kerr Machine Shop Group is a buying group of engine rebuilders and machine shops. The group currently has 273 members.
