Washington, D.C.-based ServiceConnex.com has launched an e-service tool to collect and standardize vehicle service record information. The system is designed to provide easy to access, comprehensive service records that track a vehicle’s maintenance history. This information is then integrated into Web portals, auto-related Web sites and used car marketplaces. The service could be most popular with online used car shoppers, who currently have no method to review a vehicle’s service history. Providing the service history generates a new revenue steam for participating service centres, at no additional cost. ServiceConnex.com has addressed the used car market with a “consumer portal” where online purchasers can view service histories for potential used car purchases, reducing a current problem in Internet marketing: the inability to check the quality of the product.
