F-M introduced record number of Moog…

F-M introduced record number of Moog parts in 2011

Federal-Mogul added a record 1,191 new parts to its line of MOOG steering and suspension components in 2011.

According to Federal-Mogul, this aggressive investment in new parts – the largest single-year expansion in the brand’s history – extends Moog coverage to millions of additional high-volume late-model foreign nameplate and domestic vehicles.

In total, Federal-Mogul’s Moog product team introduced more than 730 new control arm SKUs, 100 coil springs, 98 complete strut assemblies, 90 bushings, 60 sway bar links, 54 tie rod ends, and nearly 60 other components, including ball joints and alignment products.

“Our goal is to provide Moog customers with all of the parts they need to capture every service opportunity, and no low-volume parts that will simply sit on distributors’ shelves,” said Mark Boyle, director, steering and suspension products, Federal-Mogul.

Among the new premium products introduced in December are exclusive Moog Problem Solver front upper control arms with integral ball joints for more than 1.1 million four-wheel-drive Dodge Dakota (2000-2004) and Durango (2000-2003) vehicles, and Problem Solver strut arm assemblies with ball joints for over 1.2 million Chrysler 300 (2005-2010), Dodge Magnum (2005-2008) and Dodge Charger (2006-2009) vehicles. Each of these parts features the Moog brand’s premium e-coat technology for exceptional corrosion resistance and world-class Moog balls joints with “gusher” bearings, which allow grease to penetrate all load-bearing surfaces for longer life. The integral ball joints also include full-ball studs that provide 360 degrees of smooth, even rotational movement for more responsive steering, and grease fittings and premium Moog boots for serviceability and superior durability.

In addition, Federal-Mogul has added hundreds of Moog R-Series control arms for popular domestic and foreign nameplate applications. R-Series control arms combine quality design and construction with pricing that will appeal to budget-minded vehicle owners.

Federal-Mogul also introduced a broad line of Moog complete strut assemblies engineered to improve vehicle dynamics, provide a smoother ride, last longer and install easily. These innovative assemblies are available for hundreds of popular late-model foreign nameplate and domestic passenger cars and light trucks. Federal-Mogul now also offers its complete line of premium, original equipment-style replacement wheel hub assemblies under the Moog brand.
