Eye Spy: What’s a cabin filter?

This cabin air filter was pulled out of a Toyota FJ Cruiser at a Midas Auto Service in Ottawa, Ont.

“The customer was getting some strange smells in the cabin and could not figure out why… That’s exactly how the filter came out,” Phil Smith writes. “I have never seen one that bad and the customer had no idea what it was. The vehicle now comes in to our shop for regular maintenance.”
