Hyatt Regency Calgary
Calgary, Alta.
Multi-generational family business leaders from across Canada will meet in Calgary May 16-18, 2016 at the Family Business Symposium to share insights on how to avoid the “shirt sleeves to shirt sleeves in three generations” phenomenon. This proverbial old saying describes the fact that relatively few family businesses survive into the 3rd generation. The conference, conducted annually by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE), is the only one of its kind in Canada and focuses on “building strong families for successful transitions.”
Prominent business leaders from a variety of industries will be on hand to share their stories including Andrew Molson (Molson Coors Brewing Company – one of the oldest family businesses in Canada), Tony Dilarwri (Dilawri Automotive Group – largest automotive dealership in Canada), Patrick Bermingham (Bermingham Construction – 119 year old Canadian family business), John DeHart (Nurse Next Door – innovative senior care business) and W. Brett Wilson (A popular CBC TV “Dragon Emeritus” and celebrated entrepreneur/philanthropist).
