Denso Products and Services Americas, Inc. is adding three new training classes to its wide selection of automotive repair courses. The classes expand Denso’s Technical Training Program, developed to ensure technicians have the diagnostic and trouble-shooting expertise to repair vehicles efficiently and correctly the first time.
The following classes are joining Denso’s roster in 2016: Advanced Scan Tool Beyond the Flowchart, Mechanical and Variable Valve Timing and Lift, and Transmission In-Car Diagnostics. Denso offers a total of 44 classes under its Technical Training Program.
“We are committed to giving technicians the knowledge to make a quick and accurate diagnosis, service cars and trucks accordingly, and get their customers back on the road with confidence in a job well done,” said David Shushereba, director of Denso’s Product Development, Engineering, Quality and Service Group.
More than 15,000 technicians have completed one or more courses since Denso established its Technical Training Program 10 years ago. The full-day and half-day sessions use a “shop-up methodology” that emphasizes practical training instead of instruction only.
Denso’s programs teach technicians to rule out all operational and functional conditions first. This approach results in the least amount of invasive testing and saves time and money by helping technicians to pinpoint problem areas and avoid unnecessary work based on speculation.
“We train technicians to understand vehicle systems and isolate the root cause of a system fault to fix a vehicle right the first time,” Shushereba said. “This ensures the customer gets the best service and the repair shop gets the best return on investment for labor and inventory.”
