Delphi Product & Service Solutions’ Marketing Director to Head Division’s Sales & Marketing

Delphi Product & Service Solutions has announced that its marketing director is taking over sales and marketing responsibilities for the aftermarket business of Delphi Corporation.
David C. Barbeau has been appointed general director, global sales & marketing reporting to Francisco A. (Frank) Ordoez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. He will also be a member of the division’s executive staff. Barbeau, currently marketing director for the division, succeeds Ted Thacker who has left Delphi to pursue other opportunities.
"Dave is a well respected industry expert who brought more than 25 years of automotive aftermarket experience to Delphi," said Ordonez. "He will continue to play a critical role as Delphi aggressively expands its position in the independent aftermarket."
Barbeau, who joined Delphi in 2002 as marketing director for DP&SS, will be globally responsible for the division’s sales and marketing, including product line and distribution strategy, original equipment service, business planning and sales forecasting.
Since joining Delphi, Barbeau has focused on the development of robust vehicle electronics product offering to support Delphi’s total parts and service solution in the independent aftermarket.
Barbeau began his automotive career in 1976 at Monroe Auto Equipment in Monroe, Mich., where he became chief financial officer in 1983. In 1987, Barbeau became president of ARA Automotive Group in Grand Prairie, Texas, a privately held original equipment manufacturer of automotive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and in 1990 became senior vice president, operations for APS Inc., a Houston-based national distributor of automotive replacement parts.
In 1999 he served as executive vice president of Auto Parts Express, LLC, an automotive parts and equipment distribution company he co-founded.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Barbeau earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business administration degree in finance and accounting from Saint Louis University.
