Delphi has announced that Dave Barbeau, vice president, global independent aftermarket, Delphi Product & Service Solutions (DPSS), has elected to retire from Delphi effective December 1, 2010. Lucia Veiga Moretti, currently vice president, independent aftermarket, Europe, Middle East and Africa, DPSS, is appointed vice president, global independent aftermarket, DPSS, effective September 1, 2010.
“I would like to thank Dave for his many contributions to Delphi during his tenure,” said Francisco (Frank) Ordoñez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. “Dave has overseen the growth and expansion of Delphi’s Independent Aftermarket on a global basis, and has been instrumental in strategically positioning Delphi with major customers, particularly in the North American market. His experience and leadership has been invaluable to the organization, and to the many employees he has been involved with in our business.”
Barbeau will continue to be responsible for the IAM business in North America until December 1, 2010.
“Lucia brings a wealth of global experience gained from her work for Delphi as director of Aftermarket in South America, director of marketing in North America, and vice president of independent aftermarket in Europe, Middle East and Africa,” said Ordoñez. “She has extraordinarily strong business acumen and has overcome unique challenges in her prior roles that have shown great strength in her management skills. I am very confident Lucia will continue to lead this business forward in every region to strategically support our customers.”

Moretti began her automotive career at a Delphi Joint Venture in Brazil (DHB) in 1989. She held several positions in sales, marketing and business planning in the original equipment business and then joined Delphi Product & Service Solutions in 2001 as director of Aftermarket, South America. In this role, Moretti led the creation of the DPSS business and launch of the new brand.
She moved to DPSS headquarters in Troy, in 2003 to become director of marketing for DPSS. In this role she helped create Delphi’s global processes and portfolio for the independent aftermarket. In 2005, she moved to Europe and was promoted to vice president, independent aftermarket, Europe, Middle East and Africa. During this time, she successfully led a restructuring and turnaround effort for DPSS IAM Europe.
Educated in Brazil, Moretti holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, and an MBA in Marketing. Moretti is fluent in multiple languages, including Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
Barbeau brought 30 years of aftermarket management and financial experience when he joined Delphi in 2002 as marketing director for DPSS, and shortly thereafter assumed additional responsibility for sales. In 2006, when DPSS restructured into business units, Barbeau was named vice president, global independent aftermarket, DPSS.
He began his automotive career in 1976 at Monroe Auto Equipment Co. in Monroe, Michigan, achieving the position of chief financial officer.
In 1987, Barbeau became president of ARA Automotive Group in Grand Prairie, Texas, a privately held original equipment manufacturer of automotive heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, and became senior vice president, operations, for APS, Inc. in 1990, a Houston-based national distributor of automotive replacement parts. Before coming to Delphi, Barbeau served as executive vice president of Auto Parts Express, LLC, an automotive parts and equipment distribution company he co-founded in 1999.
