The announcement was made by Stephan Kessel, chairman of the company’s board of managers.
Kessel said the board concluded that Wiegert’s leadership skills, and strong track record of success made him the outstanding candidate for the role.
“Joel has demonstrated throughout his career the ability to work in different environments around the world leading to impressive results,” Kessel said.
Wiegert will be responsible for the global operational performance and strategic direction of Dayco. He has also been named as a member of the board of managers.
For the past 16 years Wiegert has held several senior leadership roles and most recently as the president and general manager of BorgWarner Morse Systems. Before that he worked in engineering and sales positions.
