CIAA asks for member support against Bill 203

The Calgary-based Canadian Independent Automotive Association (CIAA) wants to build up its membership as it prepares to fight a stubborn bit of legislation.

Bill 203 – a proposed amendment to the province’s Fair Trading Act – is said to be under government review and may soon be brought back to the Alberta legislature.

“Now, more than ever we need the support of our membership,” states a recent CIAA newsletter.  “If you are a lapsed member, it is a good time to rejoin.   Let’s build the membership up to increase our voice.”

The association has come out strongly opposed to the changes Bill 203 would bring to automotive repair transactions.
