Last year marked the third year in a row that Canadian auto repair and service professionals reported increased purchased of auto parts from new-car dealerships.
As reported in the Jobber News annual shop survey last year, purchases from dealerships continue to increase – confirming a trend that had been observed since 2011.
According to Jobbers News, some 36.23% of independent auto repair shops bought 5% of their parts from dealers in 2014, compared to 31.2% in 2013. While the number of shops that bought 10% of their parts from dealers dipped slightly to 23.19%, down from 25.6%, shops that purchased 15% of their parts from dealers increased to 12.56% from 12.1%.
Another 11.59% of survey respondents said they purchase at least 20% of their parts from dealerships.
