The amount represents a 16% increase over last year’s donation.

On behalf of Opration Enfant Soleil, Marie-Claire Brunelle, the organization’s Promotions and Development Officer, accepted a cheque for $33,972.86. Founded in 1988, Opration Enfant Soleil raises funds to enhance the calibre of care afforded to sick children in Quebec by, among many things, providing generous financial support to Hopital Sainte-Justine and the Montral Children’s Hospital. Since 1996, UAP Inc. employees have also donated $47,000 to Opration Enfant Soleil’s annual telethon held in June.

Pierre Claude Par, the Development Director for the Fondation Qubcoise du Cancer, accepted a cheque for $32,333.22. Founded in 1979, the Foundation offers numerous support programs and helped, in 2001, more than 10,000 Quebecers afflicted with cancer. UAP Inc. employees and their families would like to thank the Foundation for their invaluable support to persons afflicted with cancer.

On behalf of Centraide du Grand Montral, delegated representative Ghislain Nadeau accepted a donation of $49,279.04. Centraide is a non-profit organization that distributes donations to a network of 300 organizations and projects dedicated to helping families in need.

During the 2002 fundraising campaign, UAP Inc. employees staged numerous activities to raise $57,792.56. Special thanks go to Auto-Chem, DANA Echlin, DANA Brakes and Chassis, Ford-Smith, Norton, UAP and Valvoline for generously financing a draw for a $2,500 travel gift certificate. In recognition of its employees’ generosity, UAP Inc. matched the fundraising efforts by contributing an additional $57,792.56.
