At the cool and wet October 4th Super Series season finale at Cayuga Speedway, Ayr, Ontario native Don Thomson Jr. drove his number 4 Home Hardware Chevrolet from the 32nd (and last) starting position all the way up to an 8th place finish. The performance edged out third place race finisher Kerry Micks for the CASCAR Super Series title, his third in as many years. Combined with the Eastern titles he won in 2000 and 1999, the Home Hardware Chevy driver has secured five major CASCAR championships in the last five years. D.J. Kennington finished third in the standings. Pete Vanderwyst won the season finale in a Pontiac.
