Montréal, QC – NAPA Auto Parts and Michael Waltrip Racing are proud to announce that the Quebecer Patrick Carpentier will be behind the wheel of the NAPA Toyota 00 at the NAPA Auto Parts 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Patrick is a veteran of this race taking place August 28 and 29 at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. In 2007, he attained pole position and finished second that year and in 2008. In 2009, after an excellent start, he finished 38th due to mechanical failure. “Each pilot strives to be the fastest possible and offer a memorable show but when you race in front of your family and friends in your hometown, it becomes even more important” says Carpentier, who has led 14 of the 74 laps last year. “We came so close to victory and had a real shot at winning that day. NAPA and Michael Waltrip Racing gave me a great car last year and I will fight to reach the highest step on the podium once again. Winning the race in Montreal would definitely be a highlight in my career.” Patrick owns 13 Nationwide and 33 Sprint Cup starts after winning five races in CART in a stellar open wheel career. “Patrick Carpentier is part of the big NAPA team and we are very proud to have him on our side,” announced UAP Inc. president and COO Robert Hattem. “Patrick Carpentier is a fighter; he always gives it all he’s got and goes the extra mile to deliver the best performance. We support and encourage him 100% for his upcoming race in Montréal in August,” added Mr. Hattem. NAPA Auto Parts is proud to be the main sponsor of Montréal’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 for the fourth year in a row.
