Osram Sylvania Ltd./Lte names new president

Graham Wark to focus on growing the Canadian business, LED transition and operational excellence.


Graham Wark has been named the new president of Osram Sylvania Ltd./Ltée, effective immediately.  He succeeds James Johnson, who has been named president and general manager of Valeo Sylvania.

Wark assumes overall responsibility for Canadian operations and support functions in all sales channels. He will be based in Mississauga, Ont. and will report directly to Rick Leaman, president and CEO of Osram Sylvania.

For the past 25 years, Wark has helped expand the Osram Sylvania lighting and service capabilities through numerous managerial and engineering contributions. He started with the company in 1987 as a design engineer in the company’s Electronic Components & Materials’ lead wire plant in Bangor, Maine.

Wark worked his way through the organization, earning several leadership positions including Bangor plant manager, plant manager of the PM&C facility in Exeter, N.H., strategic business unit general manager for HID lighting products in Manchester, N.H. and most recently, vice president of Sylvania Lighting Services.

A graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Wark also attended the Manufacturing Management Institute at Cornell University and completed the Babson College Executive Education Program.
