MaxLite Introduces Energy Efficient LED Lighting for Service Stations

Offering new energy efficient lighting solutions for safe and secure operations at service stations, MaxLite launched an LED Fuel Pump Luminaire in its MaxLED Collection. The LED Fuel Pump Luminaire has been approved by the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) and is included in its Qualified Products List (QPL). The DLC was established to ensure that high quality, energy efficient lighting designs are used in all commercial lighting installations, which includes categories that are not addressed by ENERGY STAR.

“Designed as a retrofit lighting fixture for service stations, our new LED Fuel Pump Luminaire offers up to a 75 percent energy savings over metal halide fixtures,” explained MaxLite’s national product marketing manager Pat Treadway. “The prestigious DLC certification ensures that this fixture qualifies for rebates and incentives from utility programs throughout the nation.”

Highlighted in MaxLite’s MaxLED family of LED products, the high-power, 70-watt LED fixture replaces up to a 250-watt metal halide fixture while projecting a beam spread from zero to 40 degrees, to reach the edge of the canopy of drive-through fuel pump structures at service stations. The fixture, which can be surface mounted to electrical boxes or directly to the top of the fuel pump canopy, delivers a high light output (4200 lumens) at a color temperature of 5000K. Maintenance free and constructed without mercury, the LED luminaire offers an efficacy of 60 lumens per watt and lasts up to 50,000 hours. The LED Module is copper plated to provide a high thermal transfer rate, minimizing the LEDs’ junction temperature to maximize service life. The LEDs are proprietary binned for uniform color consistency and quality. 

The luminaire is universal and operates with a self-contained LED driver on 120- to 277volt electrical systems. Its heavy-duty cast aluminum one-piece housing is polyester coated, protected from rust, corrosion, dirt and bugs, and crafted with a shock-proof polycarbonate lens with UV inhibitors.

Occupancy sensor-compatible, the highly durable LED Fuel Pump Luminaire operates in any indoor or outdoor climate, at temperatures ranging from -30F to 130F. Fixture options include emergency battery backup features. The fixture is 12.25 inches long, 12.25 inches wide and 9 inches tall.

IES LM79 and LM80 reports are available. The fixture is ETL- and cETL- listed, and backed by MaxLite’s 5-year limited warranty.
