The T39B Impact Separator uses a proven slide-ram design to remove ball joints, tie rod ends and shock links during replacement service – replacing the traditional hammer and fork. It provides the technician with a quick, safe and efficient means to remove worn suspension components from the vehicle. The T39B Impact Separator tool includes two interchangeable 9″ (22.9 cm) forks made from heat-treated, forged alloy steel. The T39B-1 fork has a 5/8″ (0.6250 in.; 1.59 cm) opening designed to remove tie rod ends and shock links, while the T39B-2 fork uses a 15/16″ (0.9375 in.; 2.38 cm) opening for ball joint service. A quick exchange pin with a safety clip allows the forks to be rapidly replaced. The Impact Separator tool weighs 11 lb. (5 kg.) with a fork installed. Individual replacement forks are available. The 6-lb. (2.7 kg.) slide ram is made from solid round steel bar stock to drive more energy into the fork to separate the worn component quickly and efficiently. Each strike delivers a strong, focused blow with reduced shock to the operator’s hands. The Ken-Tool Impact Separator features a rubber safety-grip drive handle and a vibration absorbing rubber grip on the outer tube to protect the operator from shock and provide a positive, slip-free grasp. Additionally, a protective flange at the top of the tube helps to prevent pinching the technician’s hands.
