Star EnviroTech’s OE account manager, John Heist, has been appointed to the position of Chairman of ETI’s Mechanical Systems Group (MSG).

Heist is also one of the newer members of ETI’s Board of Directors. MSG supports manufacturers of tools and equipment used for all automotive mechanical systems and includes three subcommittees: air conditioning equipment, inspection and maintenance equipment, and under car equipment.

Heist’s career has been focused on pro-active management and he believes that established lines of communication and information flow are critical to efficient operations, and whether for vehicle manufacturers, government agencies, or tool and equipment manufacturers, integrating communications and information flow between these entities brings mutual efficiencies to a whole new level.

His early career was launched when he received his NAISE General Technician certification, after which he started working in independent shops and dealership service facilities before becoming a repair shop owner. It was while running his business that he was approached by Sun Electric Corporation to become a “Sun Man” for their very popular and well-respected line of test equipment. During this time he also worked with state officials in emerging vehicle emission test programs.

Successive companies utilized Heist in presenting service procedures to, amongst others, vehicle manufacturers. Progressive solutions were proposed and adopted at both OE and Aftermarket service levels.

His contributions to product development and distribution currently support OE mandated products in over 40 countries, and aftermarket products worldwide. Heist continues his work within aftermarket, OE, government, and International market segments.
