Ingersoll Rand has unveiled the W7150 1/2″ High-Torque Cordless Imactool at SEMA 2011.
“The W7150 represents the greatest advance in cordless technology to date,” says Nate Schmid, marketing manager for Vehicle Services with Ingersoll Rand. “Not only does it have all the power, ergonomics and durability of a best-in-class Ingersoll Rand tool – it’s the only cordless tool in the world that can perform shoulder-to-shoulder with our best-in-class 2135TiMax ½” air Impact. No other cordless ½” impact on the market can even come close. We think that this tool is going to change the way technicians think about cordless technology.”
Weighing in at only 6.8 lbs. and measuring 9.4″ from tip to tail, the W7150 features a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio; offering an impressive 780 ft-lbs reverse torque, and 1100 ft-lbs nut-busting torque. The W7150 also features a completely re-engineered high-power rare earth magnet motor, a steel-lined aluminum hammer case, and a chemical resistant, patent-pending metal reinforced housing for maximum durability. The sleek cordless impact also features a robust, all-metal drive train and hammer mechanism optimized for maximum power and efficiency, and a variable speed switch with electronic brake for optimized control.
The source of the W7150’s unmatched power comes from the new Ingersoll Rand IQV20 Series battery platform. Powered by advanced lithium-ion technology, this new battery platform features a high-powered lithium-ion battery “power plant” that delivers high-charge capacity and low internal impedance for maximum power delivery. The platform also features an intelligent battery management system (BMS) that provides power-level and flow-rate control from the battery to the switch to the motor, and a mountable Smart charging station with auxiliary USB port. The W7150 is the first addition to the new IQV20 Series of 20V lithium-ion cordless tools and will be available beginning in January 2012.
