Hyundai Canada has awarded 2001 Technician of the Year honors to 2001 National Skills Competition winner Normand Jeffrey of Roberge Hyundai in Beauport, Quebec. Jeffrey represented the Quebec zone against four competitors from across Canada. Competitors performed both written and hands-on testing at Hyundai Canada’s Markham, Ontario head office, culminating in an awards gala where Jeffrey was awarded a gold ring, plaque, and an $850 OTC multimeter from Kent-Moore. Runner up Gregory Bent from Kingscross Hyundai in Scarborough, Ontario was presented with a plaque and a $150 Kent-Moore gift certificate. Bent also won a special exam to represent Hyundai Auto Canada at the Hyundai World Skills Olympics in Korea.
