GPI to assume distribution rights from BWP

General Parts International to supply independent Carquest auto parts stores throughout BWPs northeast territory.

General Parts International, Inc. (GPI), a primary wholesale distributor of quality automotive aftermarket parts, supplies and equipment in North America has announced that it has assumed the rights to distribute to 92 independently owned Carquest Auto Parts stores, currently being serviced by B.W.P. Distributors, Inc. (BWP).

GPI now serves close to 3,000 stores throughout the United States and Canada.  Additionally, GPI will operate BWP’s former Armonk, N.Y. distribution center.

BWP, a privately held company that supplies, markets, and distributes automotive aftermarket parts and products principally to commercial customers, was founded in 1962 and is based in Armonk, New York.  BWP currently operates or supplies 216 locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

This transaction will enable GPI to serve the independent Carquest Auto Parts store owners in the Northeast formerly served by BWP and expand service in that region.
