Government Of Quebec Supports Translation Of I-CAR Training Programs

The Government of Quebec and CSMO-Auto recently made the agreement to undertake the translation of 10 I-CAR courses. The agreement was signed in mid-November of 2011, between CSMO-Auto, AIA Canada and I-CAR International (based in Chicago). Translation of the courses will continue in 2012 and 2013, with the objective of implementing a strategy to translate additional new courses after 2013.

Danielle Le Chasseur, director of CSMO-Auto, said: “CSMO-Auto brings together labour and management for the betterment of the automotive industry in Quebec. This agreement directly benefits our industry; the collision sector has an eminent need for advanced training. Remaining competitive and viable in an ever-evolving industry requires constant training, and it is important that it is offered in the language of their choice. We are extremely pleased to work with AIA Canada and I-CAR to bring this training to Quebec.”

The original proposal, presented to CSMO-Auto, was prepared by AIA Canada, I-CAR Canada and the Quebec I-CAR Committee which was headed by Patrice Marcile of Dupont Canada with the support of Mr. Gaetan Dussault, past-chair of the AIA Quebec Division. “This agreement is terrific news for the industry in Quebec – our shops, insurance people, recyclers, distributors – all will benefit from the most up-to-date information on collision repair in both official languages. Our industry will be on par with the best in the world,” declared Marcile. “Part of the agreement also stipulates that the curriculum will be made available to trade schools throughout Quebec. Making the most recent training available to our students gives them a clear advantage as new employees.”
