Gates Launches New Hose

Gates Corporation has launched the Barricade fuel hose, an innovative new hose that saves gas and protects the environment. The low-permeation Barricade Hose prevents fuel vapour loss while delivering peak fuel efficiency. It’s designed for virtually any engine application that’s equipped with a conventional carburetor, including cars and trucks.

Hydrocarbon vapours escape or permeate into the atmosphere through the body of fuel line hoses as gasoline or diesel fuel is conveyed through the system from the fuel tank to the engine. Gates built-in Five-layer Greenshield Barrier Technology enables the Barricade Hose to achieve five times less fuel vapour permeation (1gr/m2) and fuel waste than conventional hoses. In addition, unlike standard fuel line hoses, Barricade hose can accommodate more fuel types, including Gasohol, Diesel, Bio-Diesel, Ethanol, Gasoline and Methanol.
