Elgin Industries, a manufacturer of original equipment (OE) and replacement engine and chassis components, has opened a standalone product distribution facility in Elgin, Ill. The new facility will serve the growing packaging, private label and specialized shipping requirements of aftermarket distributors and other customers served by the company.
The new distribution facility also will enable Elgin to expand manufacturing operations at its state-of-the-art headquarters and production facility. The company, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary, supports fully integrated engineering, manufacturing and heat treatment operations on its headquarters campus.
“We have experienced significant growth in our OE and aftermarket businesses, not only in product volume and variety but also in the specialized packaging and logistics services we provide,” said Elgin Industries president Bill Skok. “Our physical expansion reflects the expanded value we offer our customers in North America and around the world.”
Elgin is a Tier One supplier of OE engine and chassis components to organizations such as Chrysler, Deere & Company, Ford, General Motors, Harley-Davidson, Mack, and Navistar. The company also is a leading all-makes/all-models supplier of replacement automotive and heavy-duty parts to distributors throughout the world.
